Clicks for Clucks

This holiday season (11/24/2009 – 12/24/2009), we’re donating 50% of all revenue generated by sales through our affiliate links to Heifer International. Book your holiday travels, buy a new computer, stock up on books & music or purchase appliances for your new kitchen – all of these will benefit our charitable giving campaign! Over 75 affiliates – surely you can find a way to support us and our charitable giving campaign? You could even buy a used car!

We’ll also be giving our own community an opportunity to benefit from promoting our campaign – the individual with the most inbound links to our Clicks for Clucks page will win prizes! Watch for details on how to promote ending hunger to win valuable prizes.

Heifer International

Heifer International provides global assistance to struggling countries through long-term development, rather than short-term relief.  Donations help to support ‘living loans’ of livestock which are given to individuals and communities. Long term sustainability of the projects is ensured by the provision of training in care and feeding of the animals as well as in management, developmental organizational skills such as record-keeping, administration, etc.

One unique aspect of Heifer’s projects is that “every family and community that receives assistance promises to repay their living loan by donating one or more of their animal’s offspring to another family in need.” In this way, projects become sustainable and individuals increase their own self-esteem by becoming not just recipients of gifts, but donors as well.

We think it’s a worthy cause – one which to we’ve personally contributed through annual donations, gifts to others and gifts from our children. We’re strong supporters of helping people to help themselves – it’s part of why we started IKEAFANS! Help us reach our goals by clicking through us whenever you shop online this season!
