As part of the Embrace Change ‘09 campaign which salutes President-elect Obama’s “notion of change and his commitment to fiscal responsibility,” IKEA will set up a mock oval office in the Main Hall of Union Station beginning today and running through Wednesday the 14th. If you’re lucky enough to be in Union Station with a little time on your hands, you can sit behind the desk in a ‘presidential’ chair. Be sure to send us pictures!!
On the 15th and 16th, there will be a ‘mock motorcade’ riding through D.C. Be on the lookout for a limo and 2 Suburbans with IKEA furniture strapped to the roof (Ahem….NOT so green, IKEA!). D.C. buses, trains and billboards will also be running with the Embrace Change ‘09 campaign slathered on.
According to FurnitureToday, there is also a sweepstakes where 3 lucky winners will pick up $1500 in IKEA gift cards, but sadly, I can’t find any information about the sweepstakes, how to win, where to enter or when the winners will be chosen. If you have info, email us!
UPDATE: The EmbraceChange09.com website will be live on the 16th and you will be able to enter to win one of 3 $1500 gift cards. More info as we know it!
