Hi again Data, I have “Googled” “changing intel plugin to universal” and there seems to be results but highly complicated for me. Are you able to do this by any chance? Regards, Sally

Thank you. There is no reason though why IKEA should not have also a version for non Intel or incorporate this in the main package.

After all the pc version runs on early versions of Windows.

I shall try to find contact details of the software developers and see what can be done!!!

On the Swedish site:

And if you find the plug-in file in Finder and show the information you see that it is not Universal compiled. Compare it with for example a flash plug-in file that is probably Universal. (Universal means that it works on both PowerPC and Intel)

Hi Data, Thank you for your reply. I have no problems installing the plugin but I cannot get the start button thereafter. Where exactly does it state Home Planner is only for Intel? Kind regards, Sally

Hi Sally,

The plug-in is only compiled for Intel (it is not Universal), so it will not work on your Power Mac G4, unfortunately.

I have Leopard 5.8 on a G4. I have followed the instructions above and also emptied the cache upteen times. No joy alas so far.

This is a very good way to waste a lot of time needlessly. I totally understand the enthusiasm, but it’s way, way too klugy at the moment. It’s just a big disappointment. At this rate, when the planner that’s “really” in English AND functions properly is available, my kitchen will already be done.

Hi Gilly,

You can create a Danish user account using the example postcode (2630) on the registration page.

Note you must use an e-mail adress that you have not used on another IKEA country site. (Tip: create an new e-mail alias and use that)

Hi all

I’ve tried all the above and still have no joy: I can download and use the kitchen planner, but cannot save it. (I did try creating a log-in, using Google translate to enable me to encode the Danish, but it wouldn’t accept my postcode, so couldn’t continue.)

There must be a foolproof way of accessing and using the kitchen planner, surely? Isn’t there anybody out there at Ikea who can sort out what must be a fairly simple problem if you’re a halfway decent computer techie? (Incidentally, I’ve looked on both this Home Planner Forum and the one on the mac.com.au (Australian mac site), but there haven’t been any solutions to date.

In hope (before I go stark staring mad . . . !)
