New IKEA Bedrooms for 2011

IKEA has launched a new bedroom line called BRIMNES as well as a crisp, clean line of bedroom textiles called BIRGIT that has a multitude of different patterns to choose from all within a very traditionally Swedish style. DVALA is a new line of sheets produced with cotton grown under the World Wildlife Federation’s Cotton Initiative. I am about to purchase the MALM King Size bed … but I need everyone’s honest opinion on whether or not it’s a sturdy bed? Not to get too personal but my significant other and I are pretty active and we want to make sure this bed will be able to hold its own.

Designer’s Inspiration – IKEA Burbank Bedrooms Displays

Luis Rocha, an in-store designer (COM-IN for those in the know) recently re-designed the bedroom displays at the IKEA Burbank  store. Heavy on dark woods and neutrals with shots of bright colors for accents, these bedroom designs run the gamut from hip and trendy to sleek and sophisticated, but thanks to IKEA, none of them will break the bank.

Says Rocha,

Luckily, budgets don’t dictate creativity, and a great bedroom can spring from a thin wallet. Start with a base in simple white and then paint the place with textiles. It’s an easy way to liven up a room without killing your budget.

Peggy Kovacic, Product Public Relations expert at the store, shared photos of all the new bedrooms with me. She also spoke with Rocha about his inspirations – see what inspired this decorator in each of five new room settings after the jump!
