Tell Us All About YOU!

Help us get to know you! We love to Welcome new members (or veterans, we're not picky!) - we've even created a special forum just to do so! Take a minute to Introduce yourself in the Introductions Forum. Of course, as in any internet transaction, only reveal the information about yourself that you are comfortable having out there for the world to see. We'd love to hear where you live, what brought you to IKEAFANS, and what projects you have or are about to undertake. You'll not find a more friendly, enthusiastic group of people on the internet!

Personalize your IKEAFANS Experience

Edit your Settings and Options in My Account to choose your local timezone, add a signature to your forum posts, choose an avatar or profile picture, change your email address of record or your password. You can also . Subscribe to Newsletters and choose from whom and by what method you would like to receive communications from the IKEAFANS site and/or from other members. Join a Group, like the Design Divas, Installers or DIYers or create a Buddy List. You can even check on the Attachments you have uploaded! Get comfy!

Keep up with the latest!

There are a number of ways to keep up with what's going on on the Forums:

  • You can choose to receive Email Notifications of replies to threads you've started or in which you have participated by selecting Instant Email Notification by going to My Account > Edit Options > Default Thread Subscription Mode > Instant Email Notification. You can also choose to recieve notification of any new threads or posts in a particular forum of interest by going to Forum Tools at the top of each forum, then Subscribe to This Forum. 
  • By default, you are subscribed to each thread that you start or in which you participate. You can check on replies to those threads in My Account. You can also select to Subscribe to a Thread by clicking on Thread Tools at the top of the thread to which you wish to subscribe, then Subscribe to this Thread.
  • Many members find that the easiest way to keep up with all the happenings is to use the Recent Posts menu on the blue tool bar that is located at the top of every page. You can choose to see a listing of Today's Posts, Daily Posts, New Posts (since your last visit) or Posts from the Past 5 or 10 days. You'll also get a listing of the most Recent Gallery Entries since your last visit.
  • When you feel as though you've perused and read all the threads you are interested in in a particular forum, you can select to Mark This Forum Read - you'll find this link at the top of each forum in Forum Tools. You can also choose to mark all forums read by clicking on the Mark Forums Read link in the blue tool bar located at the top of each page on the site

Find Similar Threads

Have you found a thread on just the subject matter you are interested in? Want more like it? Scroll to the bottom of the thread...all the way down. You'll find Similar Threads (make sure it's not collapsed) that should help you to find more information on what you're researching. Cool, huh?
